My name is Amy. I'm a wife, mother, and Jesus follower. I've been married for 24 years and we have four kids, ranging in age from 11-18. I've been homeschooling for 10 years.
As a former public school teacher, I never thought I'd homeschool but when my oldest was in 2nd grade God had different plans for my life. I started my homeschooling journey in 2011 and have never looked back.
Besides being a busy homeschool mom, I play the cello, like to read, sew, craft, lead a Bible study, and hang out with my family and friends.
Life Before Homeschooling
Before having children I was a middle school teacher for 7 years. I started my teaching career in a private school in Chicago and later taught in a public school in Minnesota.
I have taught the World Religions DSST class several times in my home. I have also started tutoring students who have been struggling with math and reading.
I worked at a church as the preschool coordinator and later as the elementary coordinator. I wrote lesson plans, organized youth events, prepared Sunday school material for teachers, and ran the Wednesday night preschool and elementary programs.
